Signature certification

Notary public may certify a signature of a specific person, when the regulations require that a legal action be performed in such a form (e.g. sale of shares in a company). The document under which the notary public will certify the signature must be prepared by the client in advance, however, the signature itself may only be affixed in the presence of a notary public.

Required documents:

  • identity card or passport,
  • the document to be signed.

Costs:

Notarial fee for certifying authenticity of a signature or fingerprint of an illiterate person or somebody who is unable to write amounts to:

  • in documents, if the subject is marked with a sum of money - 1/10 of the maximum rate that would be due if the document were drawn up in the form of a notarial deed, but not more than PLN 300 net (PLN 369 gross),
  • in powers of attorney and other documents - PLN 20 net (PLN 24.60 gross).
